With research on anti-Black racism in academia primarily focused on the U.S., the experiences of Black students in Canada remain underexplored. Activist scholars from a Canadian university in Alberta conducted a two-phase mixed-methods case study to examine Black students’ experiences.

Framed by critical theory, we aimed to identify what is working well, what is needed, and the core components of a best practice approaches to mental health crisis care.
